We’ve partnered with Igloo Vision, turning the Virtual Reality (VR) cylinder into an Immersive Testbed and Showcase. This will allow SMEs to showcase their work and use the space for research, design and concept testing. The Immersive Testbed also offers the potential to simulate a city as well as the interior of a building, and creates a unique opportunity for SMEs to explore and test their ideas in a low-risk virtual setting before they implement them in the real world.

The rapid rise of immersive technologies such as VR and AR in recent years demonstrates the potential they have to transform our daily lives, whether personal or professional. The Immersive Testbed offers the potential to simulate a city as well as the interior of a building and creates a unique opportunity for SMEs to explore and test their ideas in a low-risk virtual setting before they implement them in the real world.

 

At Future Societies - CityX we’re seeking to work with academic partners to advance research in the immersive field related to city-specific themes, as well as involving industry in the world to help them address city challenges using immersive technologies.
